One of the most beautiful parts of Germany is for me the Moseltal (valley of river Mosel). Vine maker villages following after each other near the river, nice grapes hills and cute timbered houses (Fachwerkhäuser), extremely idyllic
The names of the villages however are anything but idyllic: Kröv, Bernkastel-Kues, Traben-Trarbach etc.
On the other side, this is not very surprising considering the fact that the federal province itself where the region is located is called with the easy-to-pronounce-by-non-Germans name Rheinland-Pfalz
Anyway, the countryside is definitely worth seeing, nice target for a weekend trip.
Bernkastel-Kues consists of two parts: Bernkastel and Kues (how original!), located on both sides of Mosel river. Both cities are nice, the pictures were made in Bernkastel (last year in September).
The most important part of the city is of course its market place with a fountain in the middle surrounded by timbered houses:

For those who are not familiar with Ukrainian cities: Lviv is a major town in Western Ukraine, called Lemberg in German and Львов in Russian. It is located near the border with Poland (about 80 km).
Lviv is a relatively big city (population: 735,000) and it is one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever been to. It has gorgeous architecture very similar to Austrian, German or Italian one and Lviv’s historic city center is on the UNESCO world heritage list.
One of the most important sights is the market square (Площа Ринок). The name is derived from the German “Ring” meaning circle.

If you’re wondering what to cook for dinner, here is an idea for you
It takes about 15-20 minutes preparation, costs about 5 euro (assuming that you buy the ingredients at the small turk store next-door) and is perfect for warm summer evenings when you want to take just something light. The result is very pretty and colorful! Enjoy
We already tasted such dinner twice, mmm, delicious, here are the results.
1 try (2 weeks ago):
Mozarella-tomatos
Ingredients: 1 mozarella ball, 2 tomatos, fresh basil, balsamico vinegar, olive oil, salt

My father who’s travelling a lot around Bulgaria and knows many interesting places had the greate idea to show us the ancient Thracian tomb of Starosel. So after visiting Koprivshtitsa we decided to drive there.
The Thracian had built their cult complex on a beautiful hill with a gorgeous view over the Thracian valley. When the weather is bright one can even see the hills of Plovdiv in the horizon!

During our last stay in Bulgaria (May, 24th - May 31th) we had the idea of visiting a nice and historical place once again. Actually, we’ve been to almost most of the famous Bulgarian historical towns and villages, however, Koprivshtitsa was missing in the list.
We started in the early morning, together with my parents, and after about 2 hours of driving through the mountain of Sredna gora we arrived in Koprivshtitsa. We were hungry and went to get lunch in a very nice old-style house.
